While many cities focus on creating bigger, faster, newer, shinier and sexier infrastructure..a cittaslow community focuses on quality of life for its neighbourhoods, people and environment. 

While many local governments see the economy of "build it and they will come" philosophy for sprawl, development and especially big-box developments: a cittaslow community focuses on ensuring we have access to local foods, knowing our neighbours and supporting our local growers and artisans.

We are not opposed to development and we are not ludites..but we care about our community and by seeking Cittaslow designation, we have committed ourselves to putting quality of life for our precious residents first.
